How to get a Natural Looking Hair Weave …

Most people wonder how celebrities get such amazing looking hair. Well usually, they weren’t born with such gorgeous locs and most people know that celebrities look amazing only after a Hollywood beauty transformation. Their #1 beauty secret… a natural look weave.

To get a natural looking weave or hair extensions you’ll need a talented hair extensionist and natural looking healthy hair. Most people believe that the hair alone makes a weave look good but many factors go into making a weave look just right.

1. The right braid pattern- The braid pattern is the base for which your extensions will be applied. A good braid pattern will mean that the hair will flow and move naturally.

2. The right amount of hair- Having too much or too little hair installed can make a weave look unnatural and fake. Having too little hair installed will make the weave look thin and stringy. Having too much hair can make a person look “wiggy” as if too much hair is growing from their head. The right amount of hair usually ranges from 8-10 oz (However a celebrity weave ie Beyonce usually has 10-16 oz of hair)

3. Having the right cut- Once the hair is installed the hair extensions should be properly layered or thinned using thinner shears or razor cut. Natural hair is never exactly one length. Layering the hair will make it look natural by taking some of the bulk out of the hair.

4. Proper hair care- Even the best quality hair will not look its best unless it’s taken care of properly. Indian hair should be washed often so that oils and hair products don’t build up. Also, it should be conditioned properly since the hair is unprocessed human hair. Proper conditioning will keep the hair looking shiny and healthy.

So once again, a great weave starts out with a good hair stylist and great quality hair. Everything else is up to you to keep it looking its best.

Not all of us are blessed with naturally gorgeous hair, but with many different types of extensions available, no one has to know you were not born with it. At first, the search for good extensions may be daunting, do you choose a synthetic that is cheap or go all out for the highest quality: virgin Indian remy hair. It really depends on how long you are planning on having the extensions and how nice you want to look.

What is Remy Hair?

Synthetic hair will not last very long at all. It may look nice on the first day or two, but soon it will acquire a matted look. In addition, with synthetics, you are going to be stuck with the style that it came with. You will not be able to use your regular hair styling products on it and you will have to keep it away from heat as it does have a tendency to melt. If you are only going to wear it for a short period of time, like a special occasion, it might be a good choice as it is the cheapest…but wear it too long and it will look that way.

A lot of people think that all human hair extensions are the best and interchangeable. This is also a myth. You need to look closely at how the company gets the hair and makes the wigs. If you are going to be spending a bit of money, you will want to make sure that you are happy with what you are getting. Make sure you get remy hair. What this means is that the hair is gathered all facing the same direction as it did when it was still attached to the head. This will insure that is will lay smooth and will not tangle very easily. Some places will not take this kind of care and have some of the hair cuticle side up and others cuticle side down. After a couple of days, you will wish you had bought more carefully.

As many different regions of the world have different hair, many will go for Asian hair like Japanese and Chinese. While they are strong and durable, the hair is very heavy and much harder to style. Your best bet for the nicest extensions is going to be virgin Indian remy hair. It is strong, lightweight and easy to style, and because it says virgin remy hair, you know it was never color treated which can weaken the follicle.

Now that you have some idea about the different types out there, When you ask “What is Remy Hair”, you know that Indian Hair Company provides the best Virgin Remy Indian Hair available.

What is the best hair for Weaves and Hair Extensions?

Everyone from celebrities to everyday women are wearing hair extensions and weaves and although these hair additions are all the rage, many women still wonder “What is the best hair for hair extensions?” Today there are so many choices for women to pick from.

Human Hair… Remy Hair… Virgin Hair… oh my?

Selecting the right type of hair for your extensions or hair weave can make all the difference. It is important to purchase the most natural looking hair to blend in with your own hair for a flawless undetectable look. This means purchasing 100% human hair because synthetic hair will always look synthetic. Also, virgin human hair (meaning the hair is unprocessed) will give you the most natural healthy looking style. It is important to note that buying virgin human hair is more expensive because of the higher quality and scarcer availability. The trade off is that virgin human hair can be re-used because the higher quality lasts longer… thus saving you money in the long run.

Best-hair-for-Weaves-and-Hair-Extensions

Now the question that many people ask, “Is all virgin hair equal?” The honest answer is… no! The truth is that most hair sold as 100% virgin human hair is mixed with heat resistant synthetic fiber or mixed with “non-remy” (lower grade human hair) to lower the price. Unfortunately, in the market of hair extensions, higher quality hair always comes at a higher cost.
At Indian Hair Company we provide the highest quality virgin Indian hair at the most affordable price. We can do this because we specialize exclusively in the market of virgin unprocessed human hair sourced directly from India and procure hair in large quantities. When you use hair from Indian Hair Company the difference is easily recognizable. When you use our Indian hair you are literally wearing the same hair as the A-list celebrities on the red carpet. So next time you ask yourself… “What is the best hair for weaves and hair extensions?” you’ll know the answer is Indian Hair Company.

Indian Hair Company provides the best virgin Indian hair in the market and although we have numerous loyal customers many people still do not know what makes our hair different from other hair in the market. So what makes the best quality Indian hair…

The Source

Premium grade Indian hair is sourced directly from temples in Indian where women, men, and children travel to have their heads shaved as a sign of humility. Each year temples auction off the hair collected which is sorted by hair length and graded based on quality. Indian Hair Company only purchases the highest grade remy hair to use in our hair extensions.

Best Virgin Indian Hair

The Processing

Once we receive our hair we meticulously inspect the hair before we begin washing and wefting. At Indian Hair Company our philosophy with hair is simple. Natural unaltered virgin Indian hair makes the most beautiful hair for extensions and weaves. We do not believe in processing hair and selling it as virgin.

The Customer

We believe that if our customers experience the highest quality human hair extensions they will become customers for life. We operate under the principle that when a customer is happy with a product they will come back for more. Over 96% of our customers are repeat customers. We have a discerning customer base that requires only the best so we focus our energy on providing a consistent product time and again. When people ask why Indian Hair Company… we say “When you use the best virgin Indian Hair you will immediately recognize the difference.”

Unfortunately, there have been some media reports and discussions about ethicality of using Indian hair, without getting into the real depth of this subject and often reacting to “half-truth” and misinterpreted information. Ethicality is an individual thought and standard. However, it can be clearly stated that no one is exploited, forced or tricked into donating hair in the temples of India. We must understand that whether the western countries buy hair for extensions or not, people will still continue to donate hair at the temples as a part of the ancient tradition. That’s not going to stop whether you buy hair or not. If the hair was not used by the hair extensions industry, all the hair would be burnt by the temples (as they used to do in the past). So, it is very important to understand that buying hair extensions do not in any way have any impact on the hair donation activities in India. We are simply recycling and reusing things that would have been waste otherwise. We need to also consider that although the donors individually do not get paid for hair donation, the vast amount of money the temples make through the hair trade benefits the community directly through their charitable programs that provide free healthcare, food, cloth and education to the poor. Also, thousands of poor men and women from the community get employed by the hair extensions industry, generating income for the poor. So, the money you spend in buying hair extensions definitely helps supports and feeds many poor people in India and one should actually feel good about this. At Indian Hair Company, we use only temple hair for our hair extension products and we believe that our hair is 100% ethically sourced.

In India, as a part of an ancient tradition, thousands of people visit temples every day from different parts of the country, in order to sacrifice their hair to express humility and gratitude. This includes men, women and children. This tradition has been in existence since thousands of years, long before the advent of the hair extensions industry.

In some other countries (e.g, Russia, Ukraine), hair is collected from the donors, in exchange for money offered by the “hair collectors”. In this case, typically the donor does not shave off her head. After the hair is grown to a longer length, the extra length is cut off and sold by the donor. However, such donors are hard to find on an ongoing basis and the volume of hair collected through this arrangement is extremely small.

Before the emergence of demand for hair extensions in the western countries, the temples in India used to burn all donated hair on a regular basis. However, as “temple hair” got recognized as the premium quality hair used for hair extensions, temples started selling the hair to the “hair collectors” through contracts and auctions. This led to the development of the next tier of “hair extensions’ industry, where the “temple hair” is cleaned, conditioned, sorted and bundled. Then hair pieces (such as keratin strands, wefts, wigs etc.) are manufactured so that the hair is suitable to support one of the many hair extension methods. Extensions manufacturing industry employs thousands of poor men and women in India and provides them with job and income.

As girls, most of us can remember sitting in the hair salon getting our hair braided and squiring in pain or leaving the salon with hair headache because our hair was pulled too tight. Many women today are suffering from Traction Alopecia, a condition in which the hair follicles are damaged and results in hair loss, because of the bad habits we learned as children.

Traction Alopecia is almost always a result of applying too much stress on the hair (typically around the hairline) by excessively tight braids, cornrows, or pulling ones hair in tight ponytails. Traction alopecia is also a result of using chemicals incorrectly, like leaving relaxers on too long. It is even a result of using bonding glue or lace wig adhesives and pulling on the hairline.

Traction Alopecia affects mostly African American women is the United States and is a result of hairstyling methods. Weaves, whether bonded or sewn in, can be done safely. Some important tips to prevent or stop the progression of Traction Alopecia are:

Telling your stylist not to braid your hair too tightly

Leaving you edges out when getting a weave

Avoid leaving relaxers on too long (remove a relaxer immediately when it starts to burn)

Avoid excessively tight hairstyles

Speak Up! If you feel like a stylist may cause damage to your hair, let them know immediately or go to a different stylist.

Remember that Traction Alopecia can be prevented and even reversed if caught early. The key is proper hair care.
